Volunteer
Looking for real-world experience to prepare you for a career in dietetics? Searching for a specialty or community rotation for your internship?
What’s your Preceptor Style?
My preceptor style is personable, understanding, casual, and grounded. I make space for the intern or volunteer’s agenda, the requirements of the program, and other timely opportunities. I try to offer an organized, precise, methodical, and curated experience that builds week-to-week and offers a clear tie-back to the objectives. I am very conscious of the journey and like my client work, want to center the person and our collaboration.
I like to play with a new-school kind of preceptorship, which respects boundaries, aspirations, and inclusion. I care about bringing in the intern or volunteers lived experience, identities, and feedback.
Overall, it’s a partnership where we get to co-design the experience from beginning, middle, to the end.

Here’s some example projects & future opportunities
Internship & volunteering with me often involve a didactic, project-based, and experiential component. In med-training speak, it’s “see-one, do-one, teach-one.” Some projects that folks have worked on in the past are a university-level Mindful Eating class, a Queer & Empowered workshop, an online training for eating disorder dietitians, an online directory for eating disorder professionals, and editing chapters in a nutrition counseling book.
Specialty Areas
Entrepreneurship, Eating Disorder Care, Leadership, DEIB (Diversity, Equity Inclusion & Belonging)
Opportunities
Building & Evaluating an Online Course, Creating an Outreach Workshop, Practicing Weight Inclusive Care & Advocacy, Shadowing Presentations/Workshops/Sessions
Let’s work together
Interested in working together? Fill out some info and we will be in touch shortly! I can't wait to hear from you! Please note that I typically host 1-2 interns per quarter for community or specialty rotations. We don’t have the depth of cases and hospital access to offer a clinical rotation for MNT requirements.
"Big shout-out to the mentors and buddies who had my back—it's thanks to them that I'm here. Now, I’m on a mission to make that journey smoother for students keen on dietetics, plus interns and pros finding their way in this wild ride of a career. I’m all about dishing out not just resources, but real chances to grow and find your stride. Let's make this journey fun, fulfilling, and full of 🙌🏼!"
